Veracross Transition: Enchancing Parent Partnership & Communication

At The River Academy, we view our relationship with you not merely as a transaction, but as a true partnership in the formation of your children. To serve this partnership better, we are constantly evaluating how we can improve our stewardship of your time and resources.

We are pleased to announce that beginning in January 2026, TRA will transition our school information system to Veracross.

Veracross is a leading platform in independent education, designed to integrate every aspect of school life into one seamless experience. Our goal in making this change is simple: to streamline administrative tasks so we can all focus more on what matters most—the discipleship and education of your students.

What to Expect

We are taking a thoughtful, phased approach to this transition to ensure it is smooth for everyone:

  • Phase 1 (January 2026): You will use the new Veracross system for the first time to complete Re-enrollment for the upcoming school year. This step includes setting up your payment plan within the new system. We are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible.

  • Phase 2 (Spring 2026): Our teachers and staff will undergo extensive training to prepare for full implementation.

  • Phase 3.1 (August 2026): We will launch the full Family Portal for the 2026-2027 school year, giving you access to schedules, directories, attendance, and academic reports in one place.

  • Phase 3.2 (August 2026): To ensure the most accessible and user-friendly experience, we will also launch the new, custom TRA mobile app. This app, available for both Apple and Android devices, will allow you to access all the features of the Family Portal in a modern, streamlined system.

Veracross Transition: Frequently Asked Questions

  • We selected Veracross to better support our value of Caring Community. By moving to a more integrated, user-friendly system, we reduce the "administrative friction" for parents and staff. This allows our teachers to spend less time on data entry and more time mentoring students, while giving parents a clearer window into their child’s journey at TRA.

  • Your first interaction with Veracross will be in January 2026 for re-enrollment. You will receive an email with simple instructions on how to set up your account and secure your child’s spot for the next year. The full "Parent Portal" (for grades, schedules, etc.) will not be active until the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Absolutely. We take the protection of our families' privacy seriously. Veracross utilizes industry-leading security protocols to ensure your personal and financial information remains safe.

  • The essential process remains the same: we are fully committed to making a Christ-centered education accessible for families.

    Here is how the transition affects your contract:

    • The initial enrollment contract will reflect the full cost of educating your child.

    • After you complete the Tuition Assistance Application, the finalized tuition assistance amount will be applied, and your contract will be updated to reflect your adjusted financial commitment.

    We want you to proceed with confidence. If you go through the Tuition Assistance process and ultimately decide not to continue at The River Academy, we will gladly refund your tuition deposit.

  • Veracross is designed to be intuitive. However, we will provide clear, step-by-step guides and video tutorials closer to the re-enrollment date. You can also reach out to TRA directly and get any tech help you may need.

  • We will continue to use our current system, FACTS/RenWeb, for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year for checking grades, attendance, and current schedules. Veracross will fully replace the old system starting in August 2026.
